Some real funky tracks for you today. Careful now, listen with caution. These tracks are known to cause a real nasty case of the stank face.
Bob James - Westchester Lady
Ohio Players - Funky Work
The Delfonics - Ready or Not
What does that even mean? An interview I was scheduled for this morning was postponed because of a “sudden business emergency.” Did one of the executives have a heart attack? Would that be considered a business emergency, technically I would think so. Well, as long as it happened at work. Maybe, the main server crashed. Like it caught the computer version of the black plaque. That would make sense as a sudden business emergency I suppose.
It was just a weird way to phrase things. All he had to say was something came up and we’ll have to move our meeting to tomorrow morning. That would be just fine. I mean he took the time to call and let me know at least. Of course I don’t mind postponing. But, for some reason that phrase has bothered me all day. Just seems so strange.
Another Youtube playlist comin atcha! Today I’ve got some N.E.R.D. I can’t get enough of their latest record, Seeing Sounds. Some pretty innovative stuff on there, or at least sounds and genres I didn’t expect them to go to, but it all works so well. Mainstream music needs more groups like this. Anyway, here’s the first video from the album, it’s called Everybody Nose. Enjoy.
He thinks the Terminix guy is still outside and he wants to kill him. Shut up already!
He’s probably still mad I made him wear this last Christmas…..
I definitely do my share of youtubin’ as i’m sure you do too. So I thought it would be nice to share some of my favorite youtube concert videos every once in a while. So here goes.
We’ll start with Reasons by Earth, Wind and Fire. This is one of my all-time favorite songs and this version is so so so so goood. A classic slow jam. It’s just such a good groove. Enjoy.
Heading to Denver tomorrow night for my Cousin’s wedding. I’m totally amped about it. This will be the first time my girlfriend will be in Colorado. I haven’t been in a few years, but I always love my time there. What sucks is that we won’t be there long, just a day and a half. But hey, it’s better than nothing right?
I just released 5 new tracks on the web. You can hear them right on this page. Hopin’ to hear some feedback. I’m starting to feel like I’ve found my sound and I think that comes through in the music. A few of those tracks I’ve been sitting on for a month or two trying to decide when to release them. I think I get bogged down with these crazy expectations I have for myself instead of just making music and being confident and releasing it. I intend to do my best to do that from now on. It’s on me to make it happen.
